Formy is launching a limited production run of 40 sets of bike grips for testing purposes. These grips are now available for $49 on a first come, first serve basis. Production capacity is currently limited to two 3D printers, so these grips will be delivered on a rolling basis in 2-5 weeks.
Formy will launch on Kickstarter in September to get the necessary funding to increase production capacity to meet market demands. Before that happens, testing needs to be completed to ensure the product is ready for sale. To evaluate the grips, I designed three tests: one for durability, one for fit, and one for user experience/comfort.
A fit test (video here) was performed to evaluate the efficacy of the sizing algorithm I developed for the grips. In this blind test, over 80% of participants preferred the fit of Formy grips to all conventional grips tested (ODI, Lizard Skins, Ergon).
The last test being performed before launching on Kickstarter is the user experience test. Formy is currently launching a limited production run of 40 sets of grips to evaluate the user experience. These grips are available now for $49 at FormyGrips.com on a first come, first serve basis. Production capacity is currently limited to two 3D printers, so these grips will be delivered on a rolling basis in 2-5 weeks. In order to get user feedback quickly, shipping is limited to the US.
